A prisoner who has been on the run from jail for two years has been recaptured.
Michael Aspinall, 31, disappeared from Kirkham Prison while he was serving a sentence for making threats to kill.
He had originally been given home leave. When he returned to the prison, he had been drinking alcohol and was warned he might lose privileges in future. It was after that he escaped and went on the run from jail.
Aspinall was recaptured in Blackpool and has now appeared before the town’s magistrates who sent him to be re-sentenced at Preston Crown Court on January 31.
He was remanded in custody.
