Prayers for a new bishop

Latest news from the Lancashire Evening Post

Latest news from the Lancashire Evening Post

Christians across Lancashire are being invited to Blackburn Cathedral on Wednesday, January 16, to pray for a new diocesan
bishop.

The Crown Nominations Committee will meet in mid January, and then again at the end of January, voting on who to succeed Bishop Nicholas Reade, who retired last year.

A spokesman for the Diocese said: “We want to surround them in our prayers so the choice made is inspired by God the Holy Spirit. Come and pray for as long or as short a time as you can.”

The cathedral will be open between 7pm and 9pm, with different prayer stations open for people to pray alone or in groups.
