A PRAM carrying a five-week-old baby was hit by a mobility scooter.

It happened on Sergeant Street in Bamber Bridge at around 2.50pm on Tuesday.

A local woman was pushing her baby daughter when the pushchair was struck by a woman on a mobility scooter. The baby was taken to hospital to be checked out by medics but is not thought to have suffered any serious injuries.

The woman on the scooter did initially stop to see if the baby was ok but soon left the scene and officers now need her to come forward.

PC Roy Molyneux from the Road Policing Unit said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the incident to come forward and contact the police.

“I would also appeal direct to the woman driving the scooter to ring the police. We need to speak to her in order to resolve this matter.”

Call police on 101 with information.
