Police track McDonald’s wallet thieves

A man suspected of stealing a student's wallet at the McDonald's restaurant in the Fishergate Centre in Preston.

A man suspected of stealing a student's wallet at the McDonald's restaurant in the Fishergate Centre in Preston.

Two men are wanted in connection with the theft of a wallet from McDonald’s.

The offence took place at the McDonald’s restaurant on the bottom floor of the Fishergate Centre in Preston, when a 25-year-old student mistakenly left his wallet on the counter.

The wallet contained £350, as well as a driving licence and several bank cards.

Police want to speak to the two men pictured in the CCTV images, who ordered food after the victim at around 2.25pm on Thursday, September 13.

Both men are white, around 6ft and aged in their early 20s. One was wearing a grey ‘beanie’ hat and the other a white top.

PC Rob Costigan, from Preston Police, said: “I would appeal to anybody that thinks they know the identity of either of the men in the CCTV to come forward and contact me quoting crime reference number DA1202845.”

People with information can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, or online at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
