Lancashire Police have recovered copper piping and cable stolen from a Coppull leisure centre .

As part of the countywide operation to tackle burglary, Operation Julius, a search was carried out at an address on Dickens Road in Coppull which resulted in a large quantity of stolen goods later identified as being stolen from the Discovery Leisure Centre..

Also found at the address was a pick axe and a crow bar which had also been stolen from leisure centre.

PC Nichola Barff-Lewis, Community Beat Manager for Coppull said; “This was a great result and is a fantastic example of how the community and the police can work together to tackle burglary.

“Hopefully by continuing to carry out this work like this, we can disrupt the activities of the people responsible and prevent further thefts.

Two men, aged 19 and 20 from Chorley have been arrested in connection with the thefts and are currently on police bail.
