Sweets: Police want to speak to this woman

Sweets: Police want to speak to this woman

A SWEET toothed thief who stole a haul of confectionary from a city centre shop is being hunted by police.

Officers have released a CCTV image of a woman they want to speak to about the theft of £18 of sweets from the WH Smith store on Market Street, Lancaster.

It happened between 10.23am and 10.27am on February 4, police said.

The woman walked into the shop as a prospective customer but was seen taking various packets sweets and confectionary off the shelves and putting them into her bag.

She wore jeans and a light jacket and had a black handbag and a plastic carrier bag.

She is described as white and had long dark hair tied in a ponytail.

She left the shop without making any attempt to pay.

Anyone with information should call Lancashire Police on 101.
