Police were today continuing to try and trace a convicted robber who used to live in Preston.
Robert Gavin, who is on the run from a HMP Kennet, Merseyside, is said to still have a “strong family link” to the city .
The Dublin born 36-year-old was jailed for two years in June 2011 for robbery and is wanted for recall to prison after fleeing two months ago.
Police fear he may pose a risk to “certain individuals” he knows.
Gavin is described as white, of medium build, 5ft 6in, with short dark hair and an Irish accent.
His last known address was in the Greenlands area, but he also has connections to Blackpool.
His disappearance comes amid controversy over absconders, after killer Arnold Pickering, 44, failed to return to the same jail and Thomas Moffett, a violent thief on temporary licence, absconded from there the same day.
Call police on 101.
