A mum has told how she discovered hundreds of pounds of damage to her car moments before she was due to drive to a christening she was the godmother at.
The 26-year-old, who did not want to be named, and her partner found their cars were among 11 vandalised on Saturday night on the Holme Slack estate in Preston.
The shocked mum-of-two, who had to have a day off work and pay a £400 repair bill, found a sword style knife in her hedge, which has been handed to police.
Officers are now carrying out enquiries and are studying CCTV in a bid to identify the vandals.
Four cars were damaged on Manor House Crescent, with a further seven reported damaged on Manor House Lane.
The mum said: “ I felt angry to be honest.
“We were all dressed up and had left the house to get into the car to go to the christening, as we were the godparents. Suddenly I noticed the tyres were flat.
“Then we saw our other car was damaged too, and our next door neighbours’.
“We saw a sword style knife in the hedge, it looked like the blade was around seven inches.
“It has really unnerved us and made us feel like we want to move. I don’t feel safe.”
Witnesses call police on 101.
