A SENIOR IT boss at Lancashire police is to appear before Leyland magistrates today accused of harassing his ex partner.

Colin Fitzsimons, a senior systems engineer, is accused of sending 27 text messages to his ex partner between September 21 and October 16 last year, which were of an “upsetting and threatening” nature.

The 52-year-old, of Millbrook Road, Leyland, was charged in December.

He has not been suspended from his job, a spokesman for the force said, but may face disciplinary procedures depending on the outcome of the court case.
