A man needed surgery on his leg after being hit by a car which then failed to stop.

Police are re-appealing for information and have released an Evofit image of a man they are looking to speak to after the collision in Morecambe earlier this month.

They said the incident took place in Green Street at around 4.30pm on Monday, December 16, when the 29-year-old was hit by the car.

He suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary, where he underwent surgery. He is now recovering at home.

The vehicle, believed to be a white car, hit the man, then made off from the scene down Townley Street.

Officers are investigating the circumstances and as a result of information received so far, have put together an Evofit image of a man they are looking to speak to.

DC Jill Neil said, “Although the reasons are unclear at this stage, we believe this vehicle was deliberately driven towards the victim and we are very keen to speak to anyone that has any information that could help us trace the person responsible.

“If anyone recognises the man in the image or if anyone witnessed the collision who has not yet spoken to police, they are asked to contact us by calling 101, quoting log number LC-20131216-0853.”
