Police are appealing for information after a teenager was robbed in Nelson.

The teenager, aged 16, was walking along Brunswick Street at around 7.15pm on March 29, when he was approached by a group and kicked and punched to the ground.

The gang stole his mobile phone, a Blackberry worth £150, and made off leaving the youth with facial injuries.

The offenders are described as Asian males. One was 5’10”tall, 18yrs, average build, dark skin colour, stubble, wearing dark clothing and black Cryuff type trainers; one was aged in his late teens, very tall, and thin, wearing a white hoody and dark pants; the other two were 6’ tall, wearing dark clothing.

Det Sgt Alisa Wilson, of East CID, said: “Thankfully things like this remain relatively rare but we are treating it very seriously. I would appeal for anyone who knows who these offenders may be to get in touch with the police. I believe the robbery was witnessed by two men in a car in the area and I would appeal for them to come forward.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
