Police and council officers are getting on board to tackle community concerns in part of Lancashire.

Van plan is set to tackle concerns

Officers will be using STAN the van – a specially converted vehicle aimed which is aimed at bringing services closer to the Ribble Valley community.

STAN (Services To A Neighbourhood) is shared between Ribble Valley, Rossendale and Pendle Borough Councils and supported by Lancashire County Council’s Help Direct.

It aims to help residents to find answers to a range of issues such as crime prevention, council tax, energy efficiency, hiring a handyman and debt advice.

The van will be visiting different parts of the Ribble Valley starting on Wednesday when it will be in the car park at Spar, Henthorn Road, Clitheroe, between midday and 2pm.

PCSO for Clitheroe East, Adam Mellor, will be on hand to speak to people about crime prevention and other community issues. PC Mellor said: “I encourage residents to come and visit STAN.”
