Park sex attack

A teenager was sexually assaulted in a Preston park.

Detectives in the city are appealing for information following the late night assault on the 19-year-old woman.

Police say she met up with a man at the bottom of Glovers Court, Preston city centre, at around 11.30pm on Saturday.

The two then walked together into Avenham Park where the man sexually assaulted the woman. He then walked off, leaving her in the park.

The attacker is described as a black afro-Caribbean man, aged 25 to 35, with a large protruding nose and a gold tooth.

He was wearing a bob hat and black leather gloves.

Det Insp Dave McKenna said: "I would urge anyone that may have seen the aggrieved and this male walking together in Avenham on Saturday evening, or anyone who may know the identity of this male, to contact us."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 0845 1 25 35 45 or speak anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
