Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans has been elected as a member of the Public Administration Select Committee (PASC).
The PASC examines the quality and standards of administration within the Civil Service whilst also scrutinising the reports of the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.
It means Mr Evans be looking at issues such as civil service skills, crime statistic and the future of the census.
Mr Evans said: “I am really excited to have got on this particular Committee.
“One of the next inquiries that PASC will undertake is ‘Accountability of quangos and public bodies’.
“These inquiries are vitally important and impact on the daily lives of people.”
There are nine other members of the committee, which is chaired by Bernard Jenkins MP.
