New hope in cash machine robbery case

Suspect: Wanted man

Suspect: Wanted man

Police have released CCTV stills following an historic theft of cash from an ATM outside a supermarket.

At around 12.30pm on August 25, 2013, a woman in her 60s tried to use the ATM outside The Co-operative, Regent Road, Morecambe.

She tried to withdraw £100 in cash but thought the machine was not working as it was taking a long time.

She thought she had cancelled the transaction, told the couple behind her this, then took her card and tried elsewhere.

The couple then approached the ATM and looked to be making a transaction. They then walked off in the direction of the promenade.

Enquiries with the woman’s bank show that the £100 was actually taken from that ATM at the time. Enquiries showed that the couple did not use their card in the ATM – they just took the woman’s money and walked off.

The description of the suspects are a white male, early 20s, medium build, approximately 5’10” in height wearing a red t-shirt and grey jogging bottoms with dark, shaved hair.

The female is also white, also on her early 20s, slim build wearing a dark t-shirt and dark trousers. She is described as having a foreign accent.

Call the police on 101.
