A dirty dog owner forced to pick up litter as punishment has admitted he found his sentence fun.
A PCSO spotted Jack Gelder, 15, from Leyland, failing to pick up after the family dog fouled a footpath earlier this year.
Instead of imposing a £75 fine on the family, South Ribble Council gave Jack the chance to learn more about littering by helping council workers tidy up grot spots.
Jack and his mum Julie spent a morning litter-picking around Leyland streets and Worden Park.
Jack said: “I’d cleaned up after my dog earlier so I didn’t have any bags left.
“I really enjoyed doing the litter pick and didn’t want to stop when it finished.”
Coun Peter Mullineaux said: “I’m pleased that Jack was willing to put something back into the community.”
