South Ribble MP Lorraine Fullbrook visited Royal Mail’s Leyland delivery office to pass on Christmas wishes and encouragement to postmen and women at their busiest time of year.
Local delivery office manager, Chris Rhodes, took Lorraine on a tour of the office and introduced her to the staff who were sorting and delivering cards and parcels in the Leyland area in the run up to Christmas.
Mrs Fullbrook said: “I was delighted to visit the Leyland Delivery Office this year and say a personal thank you to all the postmen and women who work so hard to get all our mail and parcels delivered, particularly at Christmas.
“It was great to meet the hardworking dedicated and good humoured Royal Mail staff and see the sheer hard graft that goes on behind the scenes.
“There really is no let up for our postmen and women at this time of year and I know local residents really appreciate the important role that they play in our local community.
“I know residents will join me in wishing them all the best over this period and a very Merry Christmas”
Mr Rhodes added: “Christmas is the busiest time of year for Royal Mail.
“Our people pull out all the stops throughout the year to ensure mail is delivered quickly, but even more so over this busy festive period. We are grateful that Lorraine Fullbrook came along.”
