A Lancashire motorway was closed on Monday after a car fire.
All four lanes of the M6 were closed southbound near junction 32 following the fire at about 5.50pm.
Fire crews from Preston and Fulwood raced to the scene in three fire engines.
The car was “well alight” on the hard shoulder when fire fighters arrived, and they used a hose reel, two breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze.
The motorway was fully reopened at 6.24pm, and there were not believed to be any injuries.
