A motorist failed to stop after hitting a pedestrian outside a primary school.

The incident happened in Blackpool Road, Fulwood, Preston, close to St Gregory’s Primary School, at around 10pm on Friday, January 18.

Police said a man was struck by a car while crossing the road near to the school.

The man, who is 39-years-old and from the local area, received minor injuries and was treated at the Royal Preston Hospital.

PC Matt Davidson, from the Road Policing Unit, said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and who witnessed what happened to come forward and contact the police.

“Luckily the victim did not receive serious injuries but we still need to find out who the driver was.

“If anyone has any information I would ask them to get in touch. I would also appeal direct to the driver as well and urge them to come forward.”

If you can help call police on 101.
