Police are appealing for information after a motorbike was stolen from a house in Darwen.

Someone broke into a house on Maria Street by forcing open the back window between 8.30pm and 10.45pm on Thursday, January 10.

Once inside they managed to locate the keys for a Yamaha R1 motorbike, which was locked up in the kitchen.

They released the motorbike and made their way out of the back door by unlocking it with a key which had been left in the lock.

They also stole a laptop and a remote controlled big block monster truck.

PC Alan Malkin said: “The motorbike was this man’s pride and joy and we want to do all we can to try and return it to him.

“If anybody saw or heard anything suspicious then I would ask them to contact police. I would also like to speak to anyone who has any knowledge of the whereabouts of this motorbike.

“The motorbike is quite distinctive, it’s black with a red trim on the wheels.”

Anybody with any information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
