A missing woman’s body has been pulled out of the water at Preston Docks.
Police said the 58-year-old was discovered at around 11am on Tuesday, in water near to the Ribble Pilot pub, off Mariners Way in Preston.
Her death is not being treated as suspicious.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “Police were called this morning after a 58-year-old woman was reported missing from home by her husband.
“At around 11am, her car was located at the docks in Preston and a short time later Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, who were near the scene taking part in a training exercise, pulled a body of a woman out of the water.
“We believe it to be the body of the missing woman and her family have been informed.
“At this stage, the death is not being treated as suspicious.”
The name of the woman has not yet been released.
A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “The firefighters were doing some minor training, and by coincidence while they were there, they were notified about a body in the water.”
