Mega fan speaks of devastation of Jacko

One of Michael Jackson's biggest fans has spoken of her devastation at the death of her idol.

Vicky Rudd-Nichols, 31, from Woodchat Court, Chorley, has idolised the King of Pop since she was a little girl and 12 years ago she even got a chance to meet the superstar thanks to a local radio competition.

During their brief meeting, the former Standish High School pupil shouted 'I love you' to the icon when he walked backstage to meet the competition winners.

To her surprise, the superstar replied: 'I love you too.'

Now, following the moonwalking star's untimely death last week, Vicky says she will 'never forget' her idol.

She said: "I was just sat in bed when my friend called me and said Michael had died. I couldn't believe what she was saying.

"I hung up and called my mum straight away because she is as big a fan as me and I just burst into tears.

"I cried the whole day on Friday and I bought all the newspapers. I went through my old record collection and even bought a few things off eBay.

"It is so sad but he will never be forgotten."

Jackson, 50, died last Thursday night after suffering a suspected heart attack at his Los Angeles mansion.

Vicky, like thousands of other fans, was due to see the legend at London's O2 arena in July for a series of comeback gigs.
