Fylde Mayor Coun Linda Nulty will play a lead role in two Remembrance Day services in the space of three hours next weekend.
First she will head the civic party as Wesham villagers salute the war dead at 11am. Then she will attend Kirkham’s parade and service at 2pm.
Coun Nulty made a plea for locals to turn out and support Remembrance Day events across the borough.
“The people of Fylde have great respect for and appreciation of the efforts of our armed services,” she said. “I know they will turn out in good numbers to honour the people who, across the years, have lost their lives on behalf of us all.
“We will never forget the meaning of Remembrance Day, and I urge people, young and old, to pay their respects on this poignant day.”
In addition to Kirkham and Wesham, services will also be held at war memorials in both Lytham and St Annes, both at the traditional time of 11am.
