Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in an unprovoked attack in Anchorsholme.

Around 1.30am on Saturday, March 9, a 51-year-old man was repeatedly punched and kicked by two men on Anchorsholme Lane West, near to Anchorsholme Park.

He suffered a broken nose and jaw, as well as bruising and swelling to his face, and was treated Blackpool Victoria Hospital before being transferred to Royal Preston Hospital.

One of the offenders is described as white, 17-21 years old, of skinny build and around 6’ – 6’3” tall. He had short, dark hair and was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms.

The other is described as white, 17-20 years old, of slim build, and around 5’9” – 11” tall. He had short, mousey hair and was wearing white trainers with yellow edging.

Detective Sergeant Jane Atkinson said: “This was a nasty, unprovoked assault and we’re doing all we can to find the two men responsible.

“If you were in the area at the time and think you may have seen these two men then I would ask you to contact police. I am also keen to hear from anyone who thinks they may know either of the two men from the descriptions provided.”

Anybody with any information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
