A man has been left with serious facial injuries after a daylight attack outside a supermarket.
Shocked members of public saw the 26-year-old victim being attacked outside the Tesco Express store on Gammull Lane, Ribbleton, Preston, at 2pm on Sunday.
The man was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital for treatment for a suspected broken jaw. It is understood he came over to Preston from his native Poland with his parents and started working for a firm in Blackburn.
Tody Det Sgt Martin Pearson, of Preston CID, said: “We believe the offender is known to the victim, and that it is to do with a former work colleague and bad blood. We want to reassure the public in Ribbleton that this incident was not a random attack and that the parties are known to each other.”
Detectives are hunting the attacker, and have asked witnesses to contact them on 101.
