A man has been charged with historic sexual offences against a boy.

James Bird, 52, of Acorn Lane, Leyland, is accused of four counts of gross indecency with a boy under 16 contrary to Section 1 of the Indecency with Children Act 1960.

He has been bailed to appear before Blackburn Magistrates on Tuesday, April 22.

The offences are alleged to have been committed against one male victim aged under 10 at a primary school in East Lancashire between September 1 2002 and April 30 2004.
