A man caught with a knife and an offensive weapon has been fined £165.
Andrew Hodson, 39, of Beacon Grove, Fulwood, Preston, was carrying a multi tool with a lock knife and a handle weapon with an adapted pouch and heavy object inside when stopped by police in Lowndes Street, Plungington, Preston.
Hodson denied carrying the sharply pointed knife and offensive weapon without good reason, lawful authority or reasonable excuse on August 20 this year.
But Preston Magistrates’ Court found him guilty following a trial of committing the offences.
Magistrates fined Hodson £165 and told him to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
They also ordered him to pay £100 court costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The court made an order for the knife and the offensive weapon to be destroyed.
