A van driver ended up rolling about the floor with a police officer who tried to arrest him, a court heard.
Alex Schofield, 29, wrestled with the police constable between the officer’s car and his van before dragging him to the kerb.
Schofield, of Lytham Road, Warton, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer with intent to resist arrest.
He was fined £150 with £85 costs and ordered to pay his victim £75 compensation plus £20 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
Prosecutor, Tracy Yates, said on October 29 at 3pm an officer stopped Schofield in Blackpool, because his vehicle was showing as having no insurance. When asked for his details he became aggressive and as the officer took his arm to arrest him Schofield struggled and they both fell to the floor.
Imran Majid, defending, said his client suffered from anxiety and had a panic attack.
