A man has been charged with a string of sexual offences against two school boys in Preston.
Paul Boardman, from Bray Street, Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston, is accused of seven sexual offences, some of which date back 16 years.
The 55-year-old was charged by detectives earlier this week following an investigation by a task force created three years ago in Preston CID to investigate sex crime allegations in the city.
The team is headed by Det Sgt Chris McCreadie.
Boardman appeared before Preston Magistrates Court on Friday accused of sexually touching a 14-year-old boy on March 12 this year.
The bench heard he was also accused of three counts of indecently assaulting a boy under 14 relating to a period between August 1994 and August 1997.
He was also charged with a further three counts of indecently assaulting a boy aged under 14 between September 1994 and September 1997.
Boardman’s defence solicitor, Sephton Lee, made no application for bail during the short hearing.
He was remanded in custody until his next appearance in court, which is on a date to be arranged.
The case was adjourned and has been committed to Preston Crown Court to be dealt with.
