Man, 22, dies after bike crash

A man died after he crashed on a mini-moto.

The 22-year-old rider was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital in a critcial condition following the incident at around 1.20pm on Tuesday.

But he died at around 9.30am on Wednesday.

He was riding a mini-moto along Pope Lane onto Miller Road, near to the junction of Farringdon Lane, Preston when he has collided with the kerb and a lamppost.

The man, who is from the Ingol area of Preston, sustained multiple injuries.

Sgt Jon Allwright, from Lancashire Police’s Force Road Policing Unit, said: “I’d appeal for any witnesses that saw the collision or anyone who may have seen the man riding the mini-moto earlier in the day to contact police on 101 and quote log number LC-20120410-0594.”

Miller Road was closed from the junction with Village Drive down to Blackpool Road for around an hour and a half to allow for accident investigation.
