Landslide causes train delays

Rail passengers face delay due to a landslide.

Northern Rail services between Preston and Leeds were suspended between Blackburn and Hebden Bridge after flooding caused a landslide to occur at Todmorden.

A spokesman for Network Rail said a replacement bus service would be operating between Hebden Bridge and Blackburn and current delays are around 30 minutes.

Todmorden train station is closed and rail passengers have been advised to check their train times before travelling.

Northern Rail currently do not have an estimate as to when a normal service will resume.
