Knife is used in robbery

Crime news

Crime news

Police are appealing for witnesses after a Spar store was robbed at knifepoint.

At around 10pm on Thursday, January 31, two men, wearing scarves and hooded tops, went into the store at Millwood, Lostock Hall where one of them produced a long bladed kitchen knife and demanded money whilst the other man kept a look out.

The men escaped with approximately £60 in cash and 400 cigarettes.

The offenders are described as being between 5ft10inches and 6ft tall and a ‘skinny build’ and both spoke with local accents.

The man armed with the knife was carrying a black cloth material sports bag with drawstring handles, the type used as a children’s P.E bag.

People with information can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
