A man who attacked his partner and made threats to kill her, before turning a pair of scissors on himself, has been jailed.
Keith Elliott pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH) at Preston Crown Court.
The court heard Elliott, 19, of no fixed address, was already serving a suspended sentence after assaulting a pregnant teenager in 2012.
However, he went on to form a new relationship with a mother-of-one before launching the violent attack on her in a caravan they shared in Warton.
The relationship was described as “stormy”, but when the woman told Elliott she was cancelling her bank card, he attacked her, punching her to the ground, and kicking her to the face and head while she lay on the floor.
In a victim personal statement read to the court, the woman described blood pouring from her mouth, and said she could not feel her arms and face and her vision was blurred. She had two black eyes and a cut lip, but managed to hide her injuries with makeup before the police arrived.
However, her parents later spotted her bruises and Elliott was remanded in custody.
He was sentenced to 15 months in prison.
