The official Christmas card sent by the leader of Preston City Council this year displayed an image of the bus station.
The iconic building, listed earlier this year, appeared on the card sent by Coun Peter Rankin, designed by local artist and illustrator Dave Robinson.
Coun Rankin said: “It’s a sense of irony.
“For Preston council it has been the year of the bus station and I think it sums up the year, and it is a nice design.
“I thought people would appreciate it.”
The Brutalist structure became a Grade II listed building earlier this year.
And its future now looks set to be guaranteed through a deal between the city council and Lancashire County Council. The deal is set to unlock £8.3m of investment into the bus station.
Ownership will be handed over to the county council, and staff will be transferred on the same terms and conditions.
The cash, originally earmarked for a new small bus station before the building received listed status, will ensure the building stays in public ownership.
