An appeal has been launched to seek people’s views on how council tax benefit will be administered.
The Government has slashed the amount of funding it provides for council tax benefit by 10% and announced it will now be administered at local Government level.
Lancaster City Council has announced a consultation on where council tax benefit cuts will be made.
Coun Eileen Blamire, leader of Lancaster City Council, said it would not want to change the way council tax benefit is paid but the council doesn’t have ‘any option’.
