A man has been given a conditional discharge for assault.
Carl Worsley, 43, of Ashgrove, Bamber Bridge, appeared at Leyland Magistrates’ Court. He admitted a charge of assault in Bamber Bridge on June 6. Magistrates ordered him to pay £30 compensation to his victim, plus £85 costs.
Court order for window smash
A woman has to pay compensation after admitting criminal damage. Judith Anne Barker, 55, of School Street, Farington, damaged a window at a home in Leyland on May 25. She admitted the offence at Leyland Magistrates Court last week. She was ordered to pay £100 compensation and £100 court costs.
No insurance driver is fined
A motorist has to pay £395 for driving without insurance. Kristopher Paul Coombes, 25, of Ingleborough Way, Leyland, admitted the offence at the town’s magistrates’ court. He was originally pulled over on March 25 on Lancaster Lane in Leyland. He was fined £330, plus £65 costs and his licence was endorsed with six points.
Motor offence man in court
A man is due to be sentenced for four motoring offences. Adam David Gilmour, 21, of New Rough Hey, Ingol, took a Vauxhall Corsa without permission from a home in Lostock Hall on June 26. He pleaded guilty to the offence, plus driving drunk, driving without insurance and driving otherwise in accordance with a licence at Leyland Magistrates’ Court. He is due to be sentenced later.
Court order for pub damage
A teenager has to pay £50 compensation after admitting criminal damage. Stephanie Lea Spiby, 18, of Fourfields, Bamber Bridge, damaged a £400 window at the Lancs and Yorks Pub in Station Road in May. She pleaded guilty to the offence at Leyland Magistrates’ Court, where she was handed a conditional discharge for six months. The £50 compensation will be deducted from benefits.
A husband and wife have been charged in connection with an alleged £200,000 fraud.
Kirsty Lane, 29, who worked as an accounts assistant at Pure Audio Visual, Talbot Road Industrial Centre, Leyland, has been charged with 10 counts of fraud by abuse of position. Husband Graham, 35, has been charged with money laundering. The pair, of Lewis Close, Adlington, will appear before South Ribble Magistrates’ Court on August 4.
The sentence of a man involved in an attack on a man in his front room in Longton has been adjourned.
Ashley Keany, 23, of Fishwick View, Preston, will now be sentenced at Preston Crown Court on July 27. The man was treated in hospital for a gash to his leg believed to have been cause by a machete type weapon when Keany, wearing a motorcycle helmet, entered his home with another man.
