Woman is found guilty

A 34-year-old woman has been handed a 12-month community order after she assaulted a man. Carol Gibbons, of Three Nooks, Clayton Brook, near Bamber Bridge, was found guilty of attacking her victim on June 5 this year. She was also found guilty at Chorley Magistrates’ Court of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.

Drink driver hit with lengthy ban

A 52-year-old man has been banned from the road for 17 months after he admitted drink driving. Robin Bibby, of Carlton Road, Leyland, pleaded guilty to driving a grey Toyota Verso in Westgate, Leyland, on September 1 when he had 87 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol. South Ribble Magistrates’ Court also fined Bibby £400.

Teenager stole fishing tackle

A teenager who stole fishing tackle and resisted arrest has been handed a 12-month community order. Callum Taylor, of St Christine’s Avenue, Farington, Leyland, admitted entering a garage in Leyland on September 5 and taking fishing equipment. The 18-year-old also pleaded guilty to resisting a police officer in the execution of his duty.

Man allegedly stabbed dog

A 20-year-old man is to stand trial on Monday after he was charged with stabbing a dog. Preston man Trevine King, of no fixed address, has been accused of the attack on a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. King denies the offence and will face trial at Preston Magistrates’ Court on October 1.
