Fine and ban for drink-driver
A motorist has been banned from getting behind the wheel after being caught drink driving. Natnael Bekele, 28, of Brownedge Lane, Bamber Bridge, admitted being over the limit while in his car in Walton-le-Dale. South Ribble Magistrates Court fined him £110 for the offence. And the court also banned him from the roads for 17 months.
Drunk man is told to pay up
Magistrates fined a Lostock Hall man over a charge of being drunk and disorderly. Stefan McGarry, 20, of Garden Street, admitted the offence when he appeared before the court. South Ribble magistrates fined him £35 with £85 costs and a £20 surcharge.
Fine for driver on the phone
Driving while holding a mobile has cost a Preston motorist £300. Kyle Deehan, 25, of Cowley Road, Ribbleton, was convicted in his absence by magistrates in Leyland. He was fined £200 with £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
