Insurance man is given a fine

A man was convicted of driving without insurance. Shafiq Ahmed, 24, of Watling Street Road, Fulwood, Preston, admitted the offence at Preston Magistrates’ Court. He was fined £600, with £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £15 victims’ surcharge. The Court also gave him six penalty points on his driving licence.

Drink woman in driving ban

A woman has been banned from driving after admitting drink driving. Sara Jenkinson, 38, of Ashmoor Street, Ashton, Preston, admitted the offence at Preston Magistrates’ Court. She was fined £110, with a £15 victims’ surcharge and she was banned from driving for a total of 12 months for the offence.

Player denies attack

An amateur footballer has denied attacking three players from the opposing team. Gareth Moore, 21, of Kent Street, Blackpool, pleaded not guilty to one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of assault by beating following a match between Lytham Town and Longridge Town FC. He was granted bail and will return to court to stand trial on November 12.
