Discharge for shopping theft
A thief admitted thefts including whisky and toiletries. Marcus Graham, 38, of Gill Lane, Longton, pleaded guilty to three charges of theft including anti-ageing cream, toiletries, whisky and a soft drink. Preston magistrates gave him a 12-month conditional discharge and no compensation was ordered.
Thief admits to computer theft
A man admitted stealing a laptop computer from a supermarket. Michael Missen, 46, of West Road, Lancaster, admitted the offence at Lancaster Magistrates’ Court. Sentencing was adjourned.
Cell attack on prison guard
A serving prisoner has had eight years added to his sentence after an attack on a guard. Ethan Black, 23, is serving an indeterminate sentence for GBH at HMP Preston but pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding after attacking a prison officer he had called to his cell on May 15.
Restrain man is sent to jail
A man has been jailed for breaching a restraining order. Kevin Marshall, 24, of Buller Avenue, Penwortham near Preston, pleaded guilty to contacting a woman which breached the terms of his restraining order. Preston Magistrates’ Court jailed him for eight weeks and the restraining order was extended until November 2014.
Guilty plea for shop thefts
A man was ordered to pay compensation after admitting stealing from a sports shop. Steven Bamber, 41, of Rufus Street, Preston, admitted stealing from Sports Direct on Deepdale Retail Park, at a Preston Magistrates’ Court hearing. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a total of £132.99.
Fine for being drunk in public
A man admitted to being drunk and disorderly in a public place. Ernest Kasprzycki, 36, of Frenchwood Street, Preston, pleaded guilty to the offence at Preston Magistrates’ Court. He was ordered to pay a total of £170.
Man admits to drink offence
A court fined a man for being drunk and disorderly. Gavin O’Driscoll, 22, of Greenthorne Crescent, Preston, admitted the offence at Preston Magistrates’ Court which ordered him to pay a £70 fine, with £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
