Suspended jail term for driver

A motorist who admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance has been given a 12-week prison term, suspended for two years. Magistrates said Thomas Hornby, 61, of Maritime Way, Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston, must pay an £80 surcharge and £85 costs.

Man assaulted

A man who admitted beating up a male relative has been given a 12-month conditional discharge by magistrates. Mark Hilton, 31, of Wilton Place, Leyland, must pay a £15 surcharge and £85 costs.

Curfew for man

Kenneth William Bamber, 42, of Balfour Road, Fulwood, Preston, was given a 12-week curfew after admitting driving while disqualified.

Driver banned

Ian Cross, 34, of Kingsway, Bamber Bridge, was fined £148 and banned for 18 months after admitting drink driving.
