Motorist didn’t wear seatbelt

A motorist caught driving while not wearing a seatbelt has been fined £37. Graham Luter, of Conway Avenue, Leyland, admitted committing the offence on August 1 last year at South Ribble Magistrates’ Court. He was also told to pay court costs of £50.

No TV licence fine for woman

A woman caught watching TV without a licence has been fined £110. Victoria Brierley, 29, of Acrefield, Bamber Bridge, was proved guilty in her absence at South Ribble Magistrates’ Court of the offence, between October 14 and November 15, 2012, and was told to pay £90 court costs.

Man is spared jail for attack

A man who kicked a victim on the floor during an assault has been given a four-month suspended prison sentence. Jonathan Stuart, 38, of Ennerdale Road, Chorley, admitted actual bodily harm on October 19, 2012. South Ribble Magistrates’ Court ordered him to pay his victim £100 in compensation.
