Man in court over drugs

A man accused of having a cannabis factory with an estimated street value of between £6,700 and £10,000 in the loft of a house has appeared at court. Philip Herbert, 35, of Windgate, Much Hoole, Preston is charged with producing cannabis, possessing cannabis and abstracting electricity. The cannabis is alleged to have been grown in a house in Dickson Road, Blackpool, between October 2010 and February last year. He was committed on bail to appear at Preston Crown Court on November 8.

Jaguar driver’s 12 month ban

A man caught drink driving in a Jaguar S-Type has been banned from the road for 12 months. Warren Hayes, 46, of Tunley Holme, Bamber Bridge, admitted having 58mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath on September 22. The legal limit is 35mg. Chorley Magistrates’ Court also fined him £220.
