No ticket to ride
Railway fare-dodger Kamran Zafar, 24, of Breamar Road, Manchester was fined £80 for travelling on a train between Blackburn and Preston without a valid ticket. Magistrates in Preston also ordered Zafar to pay £50 costs, £5.30 compensation and £20 victim surcharge.
Jailed for threat
Ryszard Piortr Kowanda, 52, of New Hall Lane, Preston was jailed for 12 weeks by magistrates in the city after pleading guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
MAe-up thief left red-faced
A man who admitted stealing make-up from a Morecambe pharmacy was given a conditional discharge for 12 months by Preston Magistrates. Christopher Michael Davies, 28, of no fixed abode, also pleaded guilty to theft of cider and raw chicken from two other stores.
Tracey Jamieson, 34, of Tennyson Road, Preston was sent to prison for four weeks by magistrates for stealing goods to the value of £121.57 from a Sainsburys supermarket in the city. She pleaded guilty.
