Man given court date

A man accused of aggravated burglary and robbery has been given a court date. Ashley Gamble, 23, of Morrleas Lane, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, will appear at Preston Crown Court on Tuesday, December 4. He is currently on bail. The alleged victim of the offence is a businessman from the Fulwood area of Preston.

Drug discovery man is fined

A 30-year-old man who admitted being in possession of cannabis has been fined by a court. Gareth Stephen Hargreaves, of Grange Avenue, Ribbleton, Preston, appeared before the city’s magistrates courts. He indicated a guilty plea to the offence. The bench ordered him to pay a £70 fine and £85 court costs. The drugs will also be destroyed.

Man is told to pay up for theft

A thief who stole a Triton shower unit worth almost £95 has been ordered to pay a fine. Andrew Hodson, 38, of Tudor Avenue, Preston, indicated a guilty plea to stealing the £94.98 unit from a B&Q store before city magistrates. He must pay a £70 fine and was also told to pay prosecution costs of £85.

PC resistance leads to fine

A woman who resisted a police officer in the execution of his duty has been ordered to pay a fine. Hayley Marie Whiteside, 24, of Longmeaneygate, Leyland, pleaded guilty before Preston Magistrates Court and must pay £55.

Drug find lands man in court

A Preston man found in possession of cannabis has been fined £70. Nisar Mahmood Khan, 26, of Dove Street, Preston, pleaded guilty to possession of the class B drug before city magistrates. Mr Khan was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and the drugs were ordered to be destroyed.

Driver had no car insurance

A motorist who was caught behind the wheel with no licence or insurance has been fined by a court. Paul Andrew Currah, 45, of Watling Street Road, Ribbleton, Preston, pleaded guilty to both charges. He was fined £175 and given six penalty points. He must also pay costs of £50.

Motorist was using a mobile

A 28-year-old man caught driving while using a mobile phone has been fined £135. Mohammed Usman Hussain, of Ribbleton Lane, Preston, denied the offence but was found guilty.
