Tributes have been paid to a young mum-of-two described as “the life and soul of the party” after she died suddenly at the age of 28.
Sarah Spence, the mother of two daughters aged three and 12, was discovered by friends at her home in Houldsworth Road, Fulwood, Preston.
Police were informed of the former Tulketh High School and Preston College student’s unexplained death by paramedics on Friday.
An ambulance was called at around 10am and a friend who was in shock was taken to hospital. A Lancashire Police spokesman said they had been made aware of Miss Spence’s death and it was not being treated as suspicious.
Miss Spence’s family, from Ashton, Preston, said they had been left devastated by their loss.
Her sister Claire Spence, 23, said: “It has shocked us all. She was an amazing person.
“She was lovely, she was an amazing mum, she was a great sister. Her mum Cath was very proud of her.
“She was always the life and soul of the party. She liked her music, going out, her daughters were her world and she loved her friends.
“It is her big heart we will all remember her by.
“Goodnight, sleep tight, from all of us.”
Hundreds of friends took to Twitter and Facebook to pay tribute to the young mum.
A Twitter user said: “Rest in peace Sarah Spence such a young beautiful girl, gonna be missed by everyone.”
One friend tweeted: “Lovely girl, friend and most important amazing mother. Thoughts with your family and kids.”
Another poster said: “In complete shock. Such a lovely woman with a heart of gold.”
Miss Spence’s funeral will be held at St Anthony’s RC Church in Cadley, Fulwood, Preston on Friday, November 8 at 11am.
Her family including her mum Cath Maddock, 54, brothers Andrew Spence, 29, Dale Spence, 21, and Claire have asked people to wear black and cerise pink.
Claire said: “She loved vibrant colours and we’ve chosen pink for her daughters.”
Friends are planning on wearing special T-shirts to the service, which have been printed with a picture of the young mum.
