Campaigners seeking to prevent excessive housing developments in Longridge have received backing from Lancashire MP, Nigel Evans.

The Conservative MP for the Ribble Valley signed the Save Longridge petition at a meeting with local campaigners

The meeting was also attended by Longridge Councillors Rupert Swarbrick, Stuart Carefoot and Ken Hind who laid out the save Longridge map containing 1700 new dwellings planned by developers for Longridge and the 650 at Whittingham .

Nigel Evans said: “I will take up this major problem with ministers and ask questions and debate the issue in Parliament.”

Jeff Seal speaking for the Campaigners commented: “We are delighted that Nigel Evans is supporting us and taking our fight to a higher tier in Parliament and government.”
