A charity gym instructor is taking on a skydive to mark her 50th birthday and raise much needed funds.

Jackie Lowry who works at Heartbeat in Fulwood, Preston and is keen to raise cash for the cause.

She said: “I have worked at Heartbeat as a gym instructor for thirteen years and have seen many changes in that time, the one thing that has not changed are the brilliant people I get to work with every day.

“I decided to combine my 50th birthday celebration with raising funds for this wonderful charity and will be doing something I have always wanted to do – a skydive.

“This way I can have my midlife crisis and help the people of Heartbeat as well.”

Lisa Riding, Heartbeat fundraiser, added: ““We would all like to wish Jacky well in her 50th birthday challenge and would like to encourage others to do the same in aid of Heartbeat.

“Do you have a special birthday you would like to commemorate with a sponsored challenge?

“Perhaps you have an anniversary or wedding and don’t want your guests to buy you gifts why not ask for a donation to your local heart charity Heartbeat.”

For more information contact Lisa on 01772 717147 or email lisa.riding@heartbeat-nwcc.org.uk.

Heartbeat supports more than 600 people at its sessions each week.
