Generous heart of city’s housing group

editorial image

A charity founded by a Preston couple who lost their teenage daughter to heart disease has received a £1.475 boost.

Heartbeat was founded in 1978 by Keith and Rose Redman, who recognised the need to develop support and rehabilitation for people affected by heart disease.

It now provides services for over 500 people every week.

Staff from Community Gateway Association handed over a cheque after holding various fun events through the year including a fun fair in the housing group’s board room and askign staff to donate money through payroll.

Nigel Mawdsley of CGA’s charity team thanked colleagues for “digging deep”.
