Gang stamped on man’s head in attack

A gang of yobs repeatedly kicked and stamped on a man’s head in a brutal unprovoked assault.

Police are appealing for information after the assault in Heysham last Friday night.

At around 11.25pm, the 34 year old victim was walking home along Sefton Road when he was shouted to by another man who had been with a group of friends in a nearby alleyway. As the victim turned around to see who had shouted, he was punched in the head.

As he lay on the floor, other members of the group began kicking him in the head and body, repeatedly stamping on his head.

The group then ran from the scene in several different directions, some of them leaving in a black car. Anyone with information can call 101.
